German Shepherd Dogs for Sale, German Shepherd Puppies, German Shepherd Import, German Shepherd Kennel, German Shepherd Breeder, German Shepherds, German Sheppard Home of Bretta von Kaykohl Land I thought perhaps you might like to hear about Bretta as it
has been quite some time. She just celebrated her 4th birthday last
week end and it is hard to believe she's been with me that long. We
made a trip to the local doggy bakery for some special birthday
treats. She continues to be my constant companion. We hike and
travel everywhere together and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Her love of the snow and water is unbelievable which is great
because I love to be on the mountain or in the river. Bretta
collects the biggest tree limbs she can carry and I have to be careful
that she doesn't clip my legs out from under me as she isn't a good judge
of how much distance to allow in passing. I have
included some fun pictures that I thought you might
enjoy. Two are with my husband who is one of her greatest
fans. They enjoy watching TV together in the evening as you can
see. The 2 kids were quite afraid of dogs until they met Bretta and
as you can see they are now quite a threesome. I hope all is
well with you. Located in Montana Home of Lolli von Kaykohl Land Here is a photo of Lolli-Pup taken yesterday. We were having snuggle time. She loves to rest her head on my lap and be petted regularly. She has striking eyes don't you think? All is well and she is a very good girl. Another two years down the road I will be looking for another pup. Have a wonderful summer!
![]() ![]() Located in Alaska 2 Home of SG2-Kaykohl's Qwake von Falcon CGC, & Racie von Kaykohl Land, CGC The "kids" are getting along better. It is quite obvious that Qwake LOVES her. He has gotten where he is regularly smacking her in the face with a toy trying to get her to take the other end of it to play with him. I'm not sure it's to play tug as much as it's to drag her around with it. He is bigger and stronger than she is and wants her to know it. (Just another way to proclaim his dominance over her) It is so much fun to watch them playing together. Qwake is so handsome and masculine and Racie has such feminine little features. His ears and paws are much bigger than hers are. She is such a sweetie. She just melts into you when you pick her up. She isn't as mouthy as Qwake. It's nice to get such sweet little girl kisses instead of little monster boy nibbles! We aren't having to fend off such "mouthiness" on us since Racie got here. Poor Racie, though! She constantly has some kind of dog slobber on her somewhere. Qwake has to be near her all of the time whether she likes it or not. Sometimes she likes it and sometimes she doesn't which is what determines if they are playing or snarling. I hope you like the pictures! ![]() ![]() ![]() Located in Idaho 3 Home of VP2-Iso, Imported from Europe Dr. George Rudowski (Gryph's vet) asked me to tell you that not only does he think you are breeding/importing beautiful, sound dogs, but that you are also "doing everything right in terms of temperament selection". Farrah, It is very likely that Gryphon saved me from serious injury if not actually saved my life early this morning. I had shampooed the carpet and it was still damp in spots so I gated Gryphon into the kitchen when I went to bed. He respects the gates and does not try to jump them. I woke up about 3:30 with Gryphon hitting the bed roaring and snarling and lunging at the window. I heard a loud scraping and thump in the walkway between my house and my neighbor's house. I threw the window open and saw someone running through my neighbor's yard. I called 911 and they sent a car out with a patrolman and a detective. They found a small folding stepladder, a bolt cutters, and a glass cutter in the dirt under my window along with a partial foot print. They called for an evidence technician who was able to get several good prints from the window frame and the tools. The prints match those of a man with a long rap sheet for home invasions. He was involved in 2 in my neighborhood, one of which left an elderly woman beaten nearly to death. I truly believe Gryphon saved me early this morning. What was interesting is that as distraught as Gryphon was, he was polite with the two police officers who came in to do a report. They are pretty sure they will pick this scumbag up within the next few days. They assure me that he is very unlikely to come back "with that dog here". Gryph seems to be OK other than being very clingy and running the fence lines when outside. He really does not want me out of direct sight. The person ran down the pathway in my neighbor's yard which runs right along my fence line. Gryphon keeps bristling up and running down that fence line. It is very obvious that he can still smell something there. I don't believe in dogs in my bed. Gryphon spent the rest of this AM in my bed waking and growling at the slightest sound. I'm quite glad that he was "disobedient" and jumped the kitchen gate. He had a sirloin end leg of lamb for his dinner tonight and is currently literally sleeping on my feet. He's a helluva dog, and he's still just a baby. I'm hoping I can get him reassured in the next few weeks. The incident seems to have taken a lot of the "happy-go-lucky" out of him. Again, thank you so much, Located in Illinois 4 Home of Moser von Kaykohl Land Hi Farrah: Max (Moser) will be 3 yrs on 9/14. He's been on the BARF diet and went from 103 to 94 lbs. He is an amazing animal. Everywhere I take him people comment on his beauty. His temperament is as amazing as his looks. I have to again commend you on your outstanding breeding program and thank you for this magnificent dog.
![]() Located in New York 5 Home of VP2-Knievel von Kaykohl Land (2005 Canadian Sieger Show, 3-6 month Vice Sieger) Farrah, I just wanted to drop you a line and tell you EXACTLY what I think of the puppy you sent me. I’m not a new comer to dogs, I have titled and shown most working breeds for years in AKC, USA SCHUTZ, SV and many other disciplines. I have learned not to be easily impressed by fancy snap shots on the internet, boastings of "top bloodlines" and terms like, "This dog has a high prey drive and hard temperament." I have six, yep SIX children. My house is a happy, loud and chaotic zoo most of the time. Vacuums, yelling, pots crashing, and water fights. Actually the gun shy test holds nothing to the volume and explosive nature of my house. The puppy you sent me is by far the most promising potential I have ever brought into my home and that is saying A LOT...After being on the road in a crate with you for 3 days, he came out of the crate, shook of the dust and proclaimed the house his. He NEVER, not once whined, showed stress or even hesitated about any new stimuli. He walked up to all 4 of my adult bitches and didn’t back down for any reason. On the same token however, my 1yr old little boy can take a chew bone, ball or anything else out of his mouth and Knievel will respect the baby’s status in the family. My little guy will sometimes use the puppy as a brace to keep himself from falling, grabbing hide on the way to the floor and the puppy will hold very still until the baby gets his footing again, licks him on the face and trots happily off to find the next kid to toss him the ball. I don’t let my kids torture the dog by any means but when accidents happen, its nice to be assured I have a dog that will not respond in inappropriate aggression. I took him to Ring Sport 3 days later and then I really was impressed. He was slow and methodical, watching the decoy calmly at my side until the prey was in reach. Then it was a full mouthed, hard bite. He showed no stress to any pressure and was completely comfortable being "puppy caned" over his whole body. After the decoy released him and gave him his reward, the dog immediately pushed the bite toy HARD against the agitator and said, "lets go again" Afterwards he sat calmly at my side waiting for his turn again. He has a lovely ON and OFF switch. The next best thing about him is, you would think being a puppy separated from his litter, that he would be drawn to the other dogs. NOPE! He is completely people focused. If he has to choose between a romp with the dogs or sitting at my feet with a ball, (which he is NUTS for and has a 100% retrieval record so far) He picks me every time. I take him in stores, the hospital, you name it, he is undaunted by any new thing or experience. BUT the best thing about this whole deal is, You Farrah, and your kids. I have not yet run into many breeders where its not about money or their reputation, picking apart other breeders and quite frankly being a WEIRDO dog person that non-dog people go to dog shows just to watch and laugh at! You really care about your dogs and the homes they go to first. Your passion for the breed and the heart to keep it going shows in so many ways......I love the fact you are not kennel blind and are willing to see the faults in your animals and try to make them better, instead of letting your pride and arrogance blind you from continuing to learn. I am blessed I have found you and my new dog is a keeper!! Thank you so MUCH!!! ![]() ![]() Located in Washington 6 Home of Liberty von Kaykohl Land I just wanted to let you know that Liberty is doing wonderful. The kids liked her name and didn't want to change it. I call her Libbie though. Liberty makes us laugh all the time. She gets along perfect with our other dog, Baby. Baby thinks she is Liberty's mommy and they snuggle together. Libbie is doing fantastic with her crate training and doesn't even cry at night. She in fact welcomes going into it at bedtime. She seems to have adjusted to her new home just fine and alert, spunky and curious. She also appears to be a quick learner. I will be sending photo's soon, Thanks again,

Hi
Farrah! Just dropping a note to update you on Zoni and Izack.
They are both "mommy's babies" and doing great. They are best of
friends (with an occasional "dispute"), and are my best friends too.
As you know, I have had Labs for years (and currently own two), and love
the breed. However, Zoni and Izack have taught me to absolutely LOVE
the German Shepherd!! I have learned to adapt to the differences in
the two breed's characteristics and really love the versatility of the
GSD.... they love to be hugged, cuddled, kissed, and give kisses,
and yet, they are loyal, intelligent, protective, and willing to do
anything to please me. I hope you received and enjoyed the photos of
them I had sent a while back.... I'll be sure to send updated
pictures on a regular basis :) I hope you and your family had a nice
Thanksgiving and have a very blessed Christmas! Take care and MERRY
CHRISTMAS from our family to yours!

For Nursing Home Week in May, Ralli will be "Rin Tin Tin" with my son as "Rusty". The theme is Hollywood centre stage and we believe that most of the residents will remember the show. We will send lots of pics from that day. They are both favorites at the nursing home, the joy they give to the residents is priceless. Of course the treats the dogs receive give them joy as well! Ragu was over today for a play-date. They all had a great time acting like silly nuts. They are wonderful animals. Thank you for sharing them with us.

Joe takes her to the gun club every Sunday while he's shooting. She's real social. she thinks everybody wants to pet and play with her. she did learn (I hope) that she shouldn't try to play with those black and white "cats" that run around here, because then she gets a bath and put in the kennel. I'll send you a picture of her as son as I can. ![]() Located in Idaho 11 Home of Rev von Kaykohl Land Rev is a wonderful puppy and joy to own. He is enrolled in a puppy obedience class and does extremely well. There is no doubt about his intelligence he is a very bright boy. I was told by the instructor that he does extremely well. Nice of her to tell me but I new he was doing well! I just love him and he is growing like a weed. People make nice comments about him all the time. He went into a coffee shop last week with my friend and her adult Shepherd. He was a perfect little gentleman even though I would not allow him to have a cappuccino. I shall send you a picture or two hopefully next week. ![]() ![]() ![]() Located in Maine 12 Home of Yukon von Kaykohl Land Just a update on "Blaze" (Yukon). As you can see he is growing like a weed. Anyone that comes in contact with him just loves him. He loves his family and seems to be very protective of us already, he is such a smart pup and always has to have the last word. He is potty trained and already knows his hand commands for sit, down, come, stay, and the boys have also taught him how to shake. He is very smart and is learning more everyday. We are getting ready for obdience school sometime next month, I know he will be the star pupil. He has been to the vet twice now and they can't seem to give him enough lovin, he says that he is going to be a big dog. We will keep in touch, ta ta for now.
![]() Located in Michigan 13 Yepa von Kaykohl Land We have re-named Yeppa, Lehren. It means "to teach" in German. She's a great dog, full of spirit and energy. Her herding instincts are limited to the squirrels, butterflies and leaves that blow by, but these seem to keep her amused well enough. She is especially enjoying the cooler weather...I believe she is reminiscing. The boys love her and they keep each other busy much of the time. I have attached our family picture that was in our Christmas card this year. I often comment how much she looks like her mother. I think you'll agree. Glad to hear her siblings are doing well. If we ever get so far north we should plan a reunion. Thank you for breeding such a wonderful animal. ![]() Located in Mississippi 14 Home of Belle von Kaykohl Land Belle is doing great! She is settling down nicely, the puppy demons don't possess her quite so often. The snow today was great fun, of course. She ran and dragged her nose in it most of the day. This is not to say her puppy days are over, clearly we have a ways to go yet, but all in all, she is doing great. The girls love her dearly and she gets loved about 6 - 10 times each day. Joe is suspicious that Belle is the worst puppy that ever lived :) (he doesn't remember his dog of 10 years, acting like this when she was a puppy) and I think she is wonderful. She respects the horses and has stayed out of trouble with them, since her incident with Smokey back in the Spring. She herds the chickens, periodically. If they wander too far from their pen, she rounds everybody up a gets them back to where chickens belong. She likes an orderly yard. She loves playing ball and fetch, although she isn't keen on dropping anything for you. I am sure that will come. All in all, I'd say we are doing well. Located in Montana Home of V-Mira, SchH1, Kkl1albz (Dam of our V litter, now retired) Here are a few pictures of Mira. We had her spayed last week and put a shirt on here so she'd leave the stitches alone. She really enjoys her ball and other toys. She is a welcome and happy addition to our family, thanks again for sending her. We hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. ![]() Located in Colorado 16 Home of Chaos von Kaykohl Land Here is a recent picture of "Griz", he is doing wonderfully. At his last vet appt, the vet proclaimed him in excellent weight and condition with the heart of an athlete. He was 112 pounds. I don't know how he got that big.I actually can't see it, but the "OMG he is huge" comments lead me to believe my eyes are deceiving me. This summer he has helped me train for 2 Sprint triathlons and 1 half marathon and a measly 5K. We are famous on the base for being " that woman that runs with the huge German shepherd and jogging stroller". We are getting ready to move to CA with a stop over in AZ, he may be living with grandma and grandpa for a while. We are hoping that the desert agrees with his allergies. My best guess is he is allergic to pine, when ever the pine needles shed or the pine pollen is high, he is a mess. Pictured below he is chilling after a nice round of catch the Frisbee. He has a delightful temperament and wonderful manners. He walks my son to school everyday and the kids all run up to pet him. People always say "good thing he is such a nice dog!". Griz is always a little worried that he can not follow Dakota into school and looks back at the school every few steps, until we round the corner for home.
Located in California 17 Home of SG1-Unique von Kaykohl Land, CGC Hi Farrah, Kila is a great little dog and I wouldn't trade her for anything.....especially an aggressive dog that I would not trust around kids. I saw the parents of Kila and was fascinated with them. I knew I made the right choice when I saw them and felt comfortable with your expertise. I am real partial to the type of dog you produce. Kila loves to play tug. She usually does not chase and retrieve a toy for me because she wants my husbands' dog to retrieve it so she can take it from him. I will have to separate them in the future so she will not be distracted from her play. We started Kila on tracking today. She did pretty well considering my tracks were not very great. I can't see her having a problem with this phase if I get the right instruction. If I can get Kila titled in Schutzhund then I will keep going. I will take her as far as I can. She is such a little buddy for me. Thank you again! ![]() Located in California 18 Home of Cody (Retired male from our

They're the best dogs. They're so smart and big love bugs too! Qwirk is growing just fine, he's 80lbs and Betzi is a fluffy 85lbs. Thanks again for the best dogs I've ever had! Located in Colorado 20 Home of Horton von Kaykohl Land Your boy is doing fine - now 40 lbs at 17 weeks, ears up and socialization going very well. We have walked him for miles over the past month, on new trails around Mt Tampalpais, and he has had a chance to meet many people and dogs. He is sometimes aloof with strangers but no longer apprehensive around them and regards any dog as a potential playmate. He seems to have an effortless gait and we have to remember not to walk so far at times because he shows no sign of tiring or lagging no matter what we do. He has been on the boat, to the beach, and all over town.

Well being as stupid as I am it was after dark and there was not a parking spot near my uncles house. So being as stupid as anyone could possibly be I left Solo in the car (my uncle is petrified of dogs) after parking in the alley down the block. Well no sooner did I get out of the car and take a few steps I was approached by a drunk black man. I started back for my car and Solo. But I only got a few steps before he grabbed my arm. I yelled for Solo and somehow he squeezed out of the window. (I always leave it partially open for him) The man immediate let me go as Solo came barreling at him with every tooth hanging out of his mouth. Well lets just say he found out what a good deep grip Solo has. I grabbed my cell phone and called the police and Mr. Solo kept him in one place until they got there. The police were very impressed with him. Once I got him to out Solo was friendly to everyone around just as if it didn't happen. I was treated for a few minor cuts. But the drunk ended up with about 25 stitches on his leg and arm. If I hadn't had Solo with me God only knows what would have happened. As for Solo he was just in need of a good bath. The drunk was identified in a line up by another woman as the man who had raped her. Solo truly is my hero. He seems to think that I am helpless now though he always seems to be very worried about me. I didn't know he could stick any closer to me than he already did but he does. He seems to always be on guard and gets very nervous if we go out at night. I have been told that that's normal and that he will relax as time goes by. Well I better let you go. I just thought I should let you know. Again you raised a truly spectacular dog.

He has had three solid weeks of training and does: Sit, wait, down, stay, leave it, right here, quiet, go to your rug etc. He works around distractions well, and walks right next to us with a leash and without. Last Saturday I walked him to our local coffee shop (where dogs are allowed inside) and a couple of the local police officers were in there. They absolutely fell in love with Hogan (both have K-9) experience and they loved how well behaved Hogan was. He does a few funny things around here like opening his own doors, but the latest that cracked me up, was his ability to get his own ice cubes. He loves ice cubes, so I guess he figured out how to get them himself from the refrigerator door. One night right in front of me he walked over jumped up and batted at the lever until a couple of cubes fell out. He took them casually over to the rug and started eating them. Jen and I could not stop laughing. Hogan still gets to go to the lake every Saturday and has a group play date with his buddies. He seems to like the water a lot. He won't swim in it, but he like hopping around in it and barking at the ducks and geese. Hope all is well there! Talk to you soon.

And Phil teaches obedience classes and we are going to sign up for those
when Max is about 3 - 4 months old. Well, I had better run...take

explored the backyard and I think that he heard the words "No biting" more
than he wanted to. He loves to play. His world revolves around a basket of
toys and his food and water dish. We took some pictures this weekend and
will send some to you. Scout, the beagle, was here this weekend. He isn't
to enchanted with Mac. He likes bigger dogs so I am sure that they will
become friends soon. Mac discovered the dog next door and his bark at the
same time. That bark isn't very scary right now. I hope the other puppies
are doing well. Will keep you updated. Located in Ohio Home of SG-Ginga a1, Import (Dam to our 'G' Litter) Just thought that I would drop you a line and let you know that Ginga is doing well. California Home of Nos von Kaykohl Land Hi Farrah, I am sending you 3 pics that I took of Cody doing some bite work. They are not professional (obviously) I could not get the super pic of him getting the sleeve ( wouldn't you just know) I got him in the air and I got his hold and bark but I just could not click fast enough and then wouldn't you just know that I ran out of juice on my battery so I could not take anymore but you at least have a smattering of pics to see. I'll send more as soon as I can. You should be super proud of him! His trainer is a working dog trainer and even though Cody is a "show" dog he is very impressed with all phases of his training. He is doing great in his tracking and his obedience and he really moves out when he gates. They think he will go to his first trial in 3 months or so. He is home now on vacation. (He hasn't changed at all he is still my Cody Bear) They want to take him to an SV show soon??? I will let you know. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Located in California & Hawaii 66 Home of Maddi von Kaykohl Land (pictured at 5 years) Just wanted to drop you a note to let you know how our girl is doing. We will be taking on a new adventure in a couple of weeks and raising a guide dog puppy. Should be an interesting experience. Maddie will be a great role model for the new puppy. :) ![]() Located in Arizona 67 Home of Preppie von Kaykohl Land Alaska, (AKA Preppie) is a beautiful, loving and playful girl -

Hope all is well there, too.

write. Lefty (Shayne) is the most absolutely fabulous dog in the
world! I cannot thank you enough. We started obedience school
on Sunday and he did great. He acted like he knew everything, he
does know everything, it is amazing! He is housebroken, comes to my
bed every morning and licks me till I drag my butt out of bed.
Plays wonderful with the kids and our little yorkie. He is my constant
companion, never leaves my side - even if we walk down to the mailbox
out front, where there is no fence (unleashed). Unbelievable!
and so much more than I had hoped. Thanks again, and I'll send
photos soon! Home of SG-Dia, BH, a1, Import Dam of our 'P' Litter, Now Retired Farrah, last night while working on a project with the computer, Dia came in to the room and ran out at high speed, after her third visit, I decided to investigate what she wanted, to my amazement, a pan on the kitchen stove was on fire, I cautiously approached and put the fire out. It seems Dia not only saved my home, but saved the day. I am proud of her, she is remarkable to say the least. She is my hero. ![]() ![]() Located in Idaho 70 Home of Kaluha von Kaykohl Land All is well. I didn't get back from St. Louis until 9:30pm and my second up daughter is 5 today and we've been busy. She certainly seems wanting to fit in with anyone she comes in contact with so far. he is truly an athlete--we have started jogging together every day
(usually I have always let him do the running by throwing the ball or
other games) and he is never worn out. We moved into a new place and after
long negotiations I finally talked my fiance Janey into letting him stay
full time inside the house. We used to have a problem with him chewing up
everything in sight--but he has started to get over that, and it probably
helps that he gets a bone every day. I have found that
I am not the best picture taker, but I think I took some pretty good ones
last week and I will send them to you in the mail as soon as they are
developed. I also wanted to thank you for being there to answer my
questions all the time when I call. We have a great walking trail right
next to where we moved to, and Bruno loves to go down there and spend
hours exploring. He also gets a lot of attention from our new kitten, who
is fearless & loves to sneak attack. And of course the people at our
vets office say Bruno is their favorite dog. We go there all the time it
seems like & there is a girl dog who goes there every day with one of
the workers & I think he has a crush on her... but anyways I wanted to
let you know how good we are doing & thank you again for

She recently won 1st place in a local kennel club puppy obedience class. She terrorizes all the other dogs but she knows her sit, down, stay, heel, and leave it better than all others by a long shot. She is a loving pet at home and gets along with my two cats fine. She is very affectionate with me never leaves my side. She is very high energy and doesn't get to see many people despite my best efforts. She and Moser are the best of friends but that is where she learned to play rough with other dogs . I have enrolled her in the next obedience class which begins on Oct 14. I will continue to socialize her and continue with her training for as far as she wants to go . He is happy here, although he has one vice, he likes getting on the bed, since I live alone most of the time, he can have that privilege. Thank you very much, I think he is a class act, and believe he will respond to training very well. We already walk twice a day, but do recall you mentioned he likes to walk.
