Belle is doing great! She is settling
down nicely, the puppy demons don't possess her quite so often. The snow
today was great fun, of course. She ran and dragged her nose in it most of
the day. This is not to say her puppy days are over, clearly we have
a ways to go yet, but all in all, she is doing great. The girls love her
dearly and she gets loved about 6 - 10 times each day. Joe is suspicious
that Belle is the worst puppy that ever lived :) (he doesn't remember his
dog of 10 years, acting like this when she was a puppy) and I think she is
wonderful. She respects the horses and has stayed out of trouble with
them, since her incident with Smokey back in the Spring. She herds the
chickens, periodically. If they wander too far from their pen, she rounds
everybody up a gets them back to where chickens belong. She likes an
orderly yard. She loves playing ball and fetch, although she isn't keen on
dropping anything for you. I am sure that will come. All in all, I'd say
we are doing well.

Here is a recent picture of
"Griz", he is doing wonderfully. At his last vet appt, the vet
proclaimed him in excellent weight and condition with the heart of an
athlete. He was 112 pounds. I don't know how he got that big. I
actually can't see it, but the "OMG he is huge" comments lead me to
believe my eyes are deceiving me. This summer he has helped me train for 2
Sprint triathlons and 1 half marathon and a measly 5K. We are
famous on the base for being " that woman that runs with the huge German
shepherd and jogging stroller". We are getting ready to move to CA with a
stop over in AZ, he may be living with grandma and grandpa for a
while. We are hoping that the desert agrees with his
allergies. My best guess is he is allergic to pine, when ever the
pine needles shed or the pine pollen is high, he is a mess. Pictured below
he is chilling after a nice round of catch the Frisbee. He has a
delightful temperament and wonderful manners. He walks my son to
school everyday and the kids all run up to pet him. People always
say "good thing he is such a nice dog!". Griz is always a little
worried that he can not follow Dakota into school and looks back at the
school every few steps, until we round the corner for
home.

Your boy is doing fine - now 40 lbs at 17
weeks, ears up and socialization going very well. We have walked him for
miles over the past month, on new trails around Mt Tampalpais, and he has
had a chance to meet many people and dogs. He is sometimes aloof with
strangers but no longer apprehensive around them and regards any dog as a
potential playmate. He seems to have an effortless gait and we have to
remember not to walk so far at times because he shows no sign of tiring or
lagging no matter what we do. He has been on the boat, to the beach, and
all over town.

great. I couldn't ask for a better puppy. Our whole family loves her. Her
temperament has been unbelievable she is so well behaved. Everybody can
not get over how well she acts. She has been the greatest gift(beside our
daughter) that we have received from Santa. Everything is going along as
scheduled. I will get the contract signed and sent back this week. I want
to thank you for making this purchase and new addition to the family a
wonderful time for us. It shows how much love and care goes into your
dogs.I am so happy with this whole experience and look for many joy filled
years with our puppy. Oh! By the way we have changed the name Gotcha to
one that you might like. Yeah that's right we named her after her mommy...

Hi Farrah, I wanted let you
know Ember received her Canine Good Citizen yesterday. We didn't
practice for it at all, I heard of someone offering the test and away we
went. She is so attentive to me and has great eye contact. I
think we are going to pursue some obedience titles with her. Our
club is a conformation club, but there is another training club not too
far from us. I believe I could train her myself, but its always more
fun working with others. Of course they will be A.K.C style titles,
CD and hopefully on to a CDX. I have mostly entered our dogs in the
conformation ring. Now I will have to enter the ring myself.
At least I will save money on handler fees!

Bruno is doing great--like you said
he is truly an athlete--we have started jogging together every day
(usually I have always let him do the running by throwing the ball or
other games) and he is never worn out. We moved into a new place and after
long negotiations I finally talked my fiance Janey into letting him stay
full time inside the house. We used to have a problem with him chewing up
everything in sight--but he has started to get over that, and it probably
helps that he gets a bone every day. I have found that
I am not the best picture taker, but I think I took some pretty good ones
last week and I will send them to you in the mail as soon as they are
developed. I also wanted to thank you for being there to answer my
questions all the time when I call. We have a great walking trail right
next to where we moved to, and Bruno loves to go down there and spend
hours exploring. He also gets a lot of attention from our new kitten, who
is fearless & loves to sneak attack. And of course the people at our
vets office say Bruno is their favorite dog. We go there all the time it
seems like & there is a girl dog who goes there every day with one of
the workers & I think he has a crush on her... but anyways I wanted to
let you know how good we are doing & thank you again for

Chivas went swimming all on his own
today, much to my surprise. We have a big lake next door and he and I have
camped out there under an umbrella on my days off. He usually runs in the
shallow water to drink and to cool down, but today he jumped after a stick
that was floating and had to swim back, after that he made many trips out,
he had me worried because he would stick his whole head under to pick
something up from the bottom, but he was wagging his tail and running
around like crazy in-between "dives". Several people stopped to watch him,
and everybody said they had never seen a puppy so comfortable in the water
before, I was a very proud mom :) Thanks again for him, I'll keep
the updates coming.

Home of Eowyn von
Kaykohl Land I wanted to send
you some pictures of Tasha on her Graduation Night January 17th,
2005. Tasha had so much fun in Puppy Kindergarten. We
played some games like tic tac dog, & musical square graduation
night. We were to teach our dogs an original trick for the
graduation night. I taught Tasha to do hand signal commands
like sit, down, stand and come. She is also a natural at high 5 and low 5
and shake, like many German shepherds are. She did so good for
all the distractions in class. I was so proud of her. I wish you could
have been here to see her graduate. She did the hand signals
but was to tired to do the high/low 5 or shake so I let her go lay down
for a while until she got called for her certificate. She played really
hard with the other puppies and got tuckered out .In kindergarten we do
not keep them on a leash very long then let them play together.
Everyone was just so amazed when she did her hand signal and I did not
even say a word to her. The teacher said she could tell we really worked
hard. Tasha would not let me get away with being lazy and not do her hand
signals...LOL I have to laugh because Tasha will come to me and do this
little quiet special whine and I know what she wants. She wants her time
learning and getting her treats for doing a wonderful job. She likes this
good girl thing....LOL She thinks it is the best game we have played yet.
I had to mix up the order of what I had her do shortly before graduation
because she would do it before I even had a chance to give the signal. She
knew the routine. She is just so intelligent. The teacher
said Tasha is going to be a wonderful dog . I want to
enjoy her as a puppy as long as I can because she will grow up
way to fast. When we got home from graduation she went straight
to the cat bed curled up and went to sleep. Even the camera flash did not
wake her up. She was just so tuckered. I just love to watch her sleep, she
is just so precious. Tasha does have her own bed but prefers the one that
cradles her over the bed that is flat with no sides. Tasha is just
our little delight and as you can see my baby and very precious to our
family. Our next planned class will be Basic Manners.
She still chases the cats in the house...LOL Boy, will the cats be
happy when she learns her manners. LOL You take care and I will keep
you updated on Tasha.

weed. I haven't taken any for a month or two, so he is bigger now -
I need to get some new photos. He is currently in his "adolescent"
stage - he gets shoes, clothes, etc and chews on them or just puts them in
his bed. He is, however, one of the easiest puppies we have had - he
was housebroken at about 4-5 months. He is energetic, athletic, and
intelligent, and is very responsive - just a hard look or word and he
hears it. He has an appointment next week (near his 6 month
birthday) to see Greg Markellis for his "operation." His sister,
Stella, and he are inseparable. He is learning to walk in the
neighborhood on a lead and meet the other dogs, and doing well with early
puppy obedience - sitting, staying and just getting the lying down
thing. We are looking forward to seeing Rufus mature and grow (and
also to his growing out of adolescence). Hope all is well at the

Hi Farrah, Elyssa is now 5 year's
old (11/10/2000) and I'd run out of words to describe what a fantastic
girl she is - looks, personality & temperament, she has it all. Her
coat is now a beautiful/flashy deep red with black saddle and markings,
with a lighter cream color in her haunches ("butt feathers").
Everywhere I take Lys, people comment on how gorgeous she is (and she
is) and how calm and well behaved and I tell them where I got her and
how I'd recommend Kaykohl to anyone interested in a wonderful GSD. Her
personality and temperament are phenomenal - she's sweet and loving to
me and other family members, bossy (but not mean) to any foster dogs
from the rescue group, polite or indifferent to strangers and she has
supreme self-confidence. She's silly, smart, alert, and curious - can
you tell how pleased I am with her? This past weekend I took her to be
evaluated for sheep herding and we had so much fun that we'll start
taking classes in January. I've included a couple pictures of Lys and

perfect dog. I often browse your website to see what you have
available. When I'm ready for a nice male, I'll be contacting you in

would like to live in Texas. I know you don't breed for coat but
lightening did strike at least once, with Miss Lys. Take care and
thanks again for my girl.

She is so great! We are working with her on obedience and she is
such a quick learner. We take long walks each morning and she just
loves to visit with everyone. She is an outstanding watch dog and
is able to turn her excitement on and off with minimal correction.
I am hoping to do some bite work and agility when the weather cools
here. My schedule to do so fell behind when I had to have surgery.
Fiona and my husband looked after me for 6 weeks. Fiona slept by
me and never jumped or asked me to play. She was extremely in tune
with what was going on. Fiona has a great love for the water and
enjoys a spa tub soak after her swim at the beach. We are already
talking about the next shepard that we will purchase from you.
Thank you for allowing us to have Fiona in our family. She has

with flying colors so now we will begin visiting patients in the
hospital. We are going to go to the Helena show in a couple of weeks to
try the open class again. If you receive any more pictures of Walter's
litter I would love to see them.

Jeslyn von BewerHaus
Just wanted you to have an update on
Detroit and Jeslyn - now know as Kody and Sheba. When we picked Sheba up
at the airport, Kody was very excited to have a playmate, and instantly
became her babysitter. Sheba is a loving, self assured, dominant dog.
She came in to the yard at 8 weeks of age and there was never a question
of who the leader was. I do think there is a Lab in Sheba's breeding - I
have never seen a dog that loves the water as much as she does!!!
My parents own Labs - Sheba hits the water and swimming, before my
parents dogs even see the water!!! As you can tell by the attached
pictures - it is hard to get a picture of her dry - where Kody is fine
to wad - he thinks she is crazy! We could not be happier with the
two GSD we have purchased through you - Thank you!!

Hope all is well with
you, your family and 'babies'. I thought I would send you these pictures
of Miss Greta! She is absolutely stunning
and we just love her to death. She is still a puppy, but you'd never
know it by looking at her! She is very loving and affectionate, but yet
stubborn and head strong....but she still is a puppy. So we work with
her daily and she's coming along. She should be coming into her heat
soon. We will let her go through 1 or possibly 2 before spaying her.

Tomorrow is Kyla's (Carma) third birthday, and I
just wanted you to know that she is a very happy girl, and we are
absolutely thrilled to have her as part of our family. She has
become an excellent watch dog who is extremely loyal to her family, and
has won over many hearts throughout the neighborhood - including
the neighbor who had a tremendous fear of all german shepherds until
meeting Kyla. She receives many complements about her appearance,
temperament, intelligence and personality whenever out in public. Most
people are very disappointed to hear that she is spayed and has never
been bred locally, but I do refer all serious inquiries to your website.
Attached are some updated photo taken this week. Unfortunately, I don't
have a very good camera, and Kyla is very camera shy, but she did her
best to cooperate with the camera for these pics.

Hope everything's goin good.
Just been REALLY busy over here with work which is a good thing and
rasing Basko! Basko is doing great! He's such an awesome dog! He's 5 1/2
months now and hes somewhere between 50-55 pounds. He's getting huge!
Everyone loves Basko. I can't go anywhere without being mobbed by people
who want to say hi to him! Everyone thinks he's such a stud! Basko loves
people and wants to play with every dog he comes across. He loves kids
most of all. Actually he loves tennis balls even more.... I couldn't be
happier with Basko and I think you are everything that a breeder should
be... Basko is such a smart and beautiful dog. You produce amazing
shepherds... Thanks so much. Here are some pictures I took
recently of Basko in the yard...

Farrah, Thank you so much. His temperament is better than I could
have ever imagined. Every outing he impresses me more and more.
This last time a guy had 10 off leash dogs walking in a pack (a Cesar
Milan type…obviously) …Mayfield just mingled with the other dogs as they
walked past us. Once at the watering hole where the dogs swim, he
just mingled with all the dogs again. The guy with all those dogs
took a liking to him, kept petting him and saying what a nice dog he
was. OK...clearly I could talk all day about Mayfield. So
I’ll stop now. J Here’s one
more picture of the entire family. Alex (my husband) AJ, Max (in stroller), me
(such a flatter photo) and Mayfield.

Land Just thought you'd like an update on Babs (call name
Zoey). She's doing great and is loving Alaska. She is
learning about hiking and LOVES going up and down mountains.
She loves little kids, other dogs, and people in general. She
LOVES snow and prances through it. She gets along great with the
cat (which was one of our big concerns) and is the friendliest/sweetest
dog I've ever met. Here are some pictures of Zoey. The first
is her on top of a mountain that we hiked last weekend. The second
is her playing on the snow in our front yard in March.

I hope this finds you well. We are
loving our dog! We have named him Klink (after Commandant Klink of
Hogan's Heros) and he has adjusted nicely. I am attaching photos,
please let me know if you are not able to see them. The first photo is
with our oldest and was in April, the second in December, the third was
in November. He is big - he currently weighs about 65-70 lbs and
I've been extremely careful not to over feed him; the vet said he is
very healthy. He will be 8 months old on June 6th. He is at
a professional trainers at present, we will be getting him back in the
next couple of weeks. The majority of dogs in this part of the
country are labs, it is easy to find a trainers if you have a hunting
dog. I wanted someone that has a good bit of experience with
German Shephards and I found one not too far from us. He does all
of the training for the K-9 dogs with the local and state-wide police
departments and while I don't need him to sniff for drugs, I felt very
comfortable that he can help us fine tune what we have tried to teach
Klink. I look forward to being able to talk him walking with me in
the mornings. I really can't say enough about Klink and how happy
we all are. Thank you for taking the time when I first contacted
you as well as all those questions I had at the beginning. He fits
in so well with our family and we are looking forward to many happy
years together! I hope you are all well there, I'm sure you are
continuing to make a lot of families very happy!

I just wanted to give you a brief update
on our girl "Faith". As you know she turned 4 moths old last week, has
had all of her puppy shots and is a "tremendous animal". Her infancy
stage was full of exploration, socialization, nurturing, boundaries and
a lot of love. Faith and our older mixed breed Zoie have become best of
friends, (as I suspected they would) and Faith is now maturing a bit
into the "little girl with the curl". I have taken training slow
and allowed her to be a "pup" for the most part. In the areas we have
work on she is strong. Strong suits are: Sit, lay-down, heal on leash,
house broken 80% (she tries real hard but has an occasional accident)
Good performance areas are: Come, stay, heal off leash. All in all she
will work hard to please and is not at all shy. Her weight is 32
lbs, but skinny as a rail because she is growing so tall and long. She's
great at physical exams, loves to be brushed (though she would rather
eat the brush) loves to have her gums massaged and teeth brushed, fine
at ear exam and cleaning. She sleeps comfortably through the night in
her crate next to me in bed. She finds comfort during the day in the
crate as well. We are "slowly" learning to swim. She will jump out of
the inflatable boat when she wants and has not yet learned "exactly"
where the steps are so she is not allowed unattended by the pool. She
loves to dig and I have given her permission in ONE spot in the yard,
that she is becoming OK with. Loves to fetch and mostly will "let go".
She is still sleep, play, sleep, eat, sleep play mode with a lot of
SLEEP!!! Long and short here: Faith is intelligent, faithful,
strong of heart and body and we could not be more please to have her as
another family member!!! She is happy, health and very loved!!!

.I purchased a german
sheppard about 2 1/2 years ago, and just wanted to let you know he is
doing great. I'm pretty sure you like to receive e-mails on how
your dog(s) are doing once you let them go. My trainer told me he
is probably the smartest dog he has ever worked with. Nixon is
absolutely gorgeous! I can't go anywhere with him without people
turning their heads to look at him compliments every time! He is
excellent at frisbee (he should be after all the hours i've logged
playing with him. Anyhow, I am buying a new house this oct or nov
and will be looking to purchase again from you. Nixon was from your G
litter in oct of 06(you named him gosh) If you have any pictures of him
from before I got him it would be great if you could e-mail me some so I
can add them to his photo album. I'll let you go know...I'll be
watching for future litters so i can go ahead with my plans on a new
dog. I've got some pics with this letter if you would like to see
how he's grown up. Have a good week.

spend lots of time outdoors this past month. She is really the

Thought you might want to see what
Kali and I do for excitement in the winter. We had a white Christmas
with lots of snow, which is unusual down in the valley where I live.
Usually, you have to drive up the mountain to the ski hill for snow.
Anyway, I have been training Kali to run next to me on the bicycle.
She is learning quickly, and it is a great way for both of us to get
exercise.

I would like to let you know Danielle is everything we have dreamed
she would be! She has brought a lot of laughter into our home in
regards to our dogs. We, of course, have laughed at a few things we
know we shouldn't but she is such a character and the laughter is
out before you know it! She is very smart and is keeping me on my
toes - definitely smarter than I think any puppy should be but it
certainly makes her what we love so much. The attached photo is one
we took of her at my husband's parents this weekend, as you can see,
she still has the same look in her eye that made me fall for her.
She is already a water dog, loves the pool!! She digs the water out
of her waterbowl and rolls in the puddle daily... I should mention
this is the indoor waterbowl, not the outdoor one. =) My laundry
room floor has never been cleaner.

Hi Farah, I hope things are well in your neck of the woods. Here is
Fiona in her agility debut and resting outside. She seems to enjoy the
course and will do all of the obstacles. She is not off leash yet, as
she enjoys visiting the other dogs too much. Fiona is doing great! She
is strong and so smart. When I began taking Fiona to agility in early
March of this year, there were many small dogs there. For example a
Pomeranian and a 2 lb Dachshund (Hopefully my spelling is right) and I
was reluctant to approach due to Fiona's size. Fiona automatically
lowered her body to the ground and laid her head to its side to greet
the miniature canines without any command except "go low" (I couldn't
think of a professional command). Everyone in class was amazed at her
gentleness and understanding. I have had two other Shepherd and have
been around many. I have never been so privileged as to be around such
intelligence. Fiona has certainly made me a better person. It's
true what they say about dogs, they can help you fix your own
uncertainties and insecurities. I continue to work with Fiona on
jumping when she greets guests at the door, but she settles right down
now and is truly the bell of the ball. I call her my "Supermodel"
because she is such a girly-girl. She is as sweet as you said she would
be. I am just trying to figure out how you could know that when she was
so young. Your the best. Thank you for the best Shepherd in the
world.

Hi Farrah - Emmie (Gabriella) has not
only became a gorgeous German Shepherd but magnificent in every way!
She is almost 17 months, about 70lbs and is the best trained dog we
have ever had. She is a great companion and extremely
affectionate and playful. Words can't express how much we love
her and how thankful we are that we found you to replace our loss of
our Kayli. We also lost our lab, Libby, in June, so we are
even more grateful to have had Emmie to get us through our sad
times. With warm regards and thanks for our precious, Emmie!

Hi Farrah, I had photos taken of my crew
by Amanda Jones, a well known pet photographer. She thought Lyssie
was absolutely gorgeous (now 9 years old) and that Gunnar was just
adorable. I have about 180 proofs to choose from but I thought the
attached was a good representation. As you can see, Gunnar is
Huge! He's about 85 pounds now, very sweet and happy. We've been
attending school for awhile though I admit I haven't been overly
working him, just want him to get some basics. We'll start working
harder when he hits a year (coming up soon). In the fall, I'm going
to try and sign him up for tracking class as his nose is always to
the ground. I plan on neutering him after he reaches a year old but
have no set date yet. He's not an alpha kind of fellow so I don't
have behavior issues to contend with, which is why I'm not rushing
to the vet. I'm sure you know I won't breed him (limited
registration aside), just want to make sure he's done "baking"
(maturing) before he gets neutered. Take care and have a happy and safe Independence weekend.
